Mellowing Psycho
This week was relatively and unusually busy work-wise and life-wise. I found myself in the brink of cracking under pressure and lashing out at my team...I just ended up with a slight tantrum saying -- "I am not happy. We are not being efficient...this is not like us." -- end of tantrum.I realized later that there was no need. Everything is in order. We met our deadline and we're all set for the upcoming event. Not bad. Still quite efficient. I guess I was not so hands-on with developments of my plans that made me a bit nervous that nothing had moved. I am so blessed with a very very good team. We are a lean and mean group and I love that we're 95% of the time just "chillin"...breezing our way through buying deadlines and operational concerns...I am so lucky to have them!My baby girl is feeling better too. We have been chatting on the phone and went on a "date" last Sunday and we found out so much about each other -- and our father and what he thinks of us. I found out really juicy (but also disappointing) things about our dad and recalled a major event that happened to him 5 years ago -- it was all ture!! The rumor was true! EEEEEEEAAAAAYW. i wanted to slap him silly. Stupid stupid man -- got his 2nd chance and almost blew it. It's such old news though, that sisterette could barely remember the details. But wow...what an update. That date did a lot for me too -- I was a little concerned about my sister. I was worried about this beautiful girl I see growing up to be a worldly, mean and shallow lady -- and then I remember...she's 15. I was 15 once. Now I remember! That was when the world was the mall and your friends and your parents sucked no matter what they did. Okay, fine, then she's not that bad. In fact, she's a kind-hearted girl. Very concerned about the people who matter to her. Very sweet actually. I was glad to have spent the entire Sunday with my (not-so) baby sister. She is beautiful indeed. So that stupid guy who hurt her feelings had better watch it! Grrrrr....The whole week was then all about work work work -- music -- work, work work. Had a visitor -- who else? But it was all good. Dinner with mother then gone. I just read my buddy's entry-- I'm glad you found a job right away sweetie! Really happy for you and wishing you the best of luck!Today's TGIF...I actually have work later...but will always make time for TGIF cocktail time with co-workers. I have to make sure I have a good weekend, because next week is going to be even worse -- work-wise. Cheers!!PS - I have yet another potnetial "victim" (i'm hyping it up in myhead so I'll get excited), but since I'm on the prowl, i'm not ashamed to admit it..."met" him thru work -- he's actually a customer, and we've been just talking -- finalizing a transaction. I think I was the one who started flirting -- or was it him? I'm not sure. I will see himfor the first time later. He sounds gwapo, so we'll see...or this could just be another really interesting and exaggerated story I made up in my head?...O well, they're all the same...they make me light up, so good enough!
Dear Ate...
My Sister asked if we could talk...I called her up immediately. She cried to me. My heart aches. My baby girl had her heart broken for the first time. I didn't know what to say. I never liked the guy. She cried and cried.
Recently, I've always been a little more attentive to the my younger brother, who is 20 years my junior, simply becuase he's younger (the baby of the family) and he's really much nicer. With my sister, I'm like the cool, but not so cool ate who worries a lot, but cool just the same. It was the first time that she really spilled her guts to me today, with raw emotion. I could feel her pain. I suppose everybody gets their heart broken at some point...I just hated hearing her so sad. I wonder what the cool ate can do to make her feel better? Would kicking his ass be part of the options?
Half Full Glass Week
I've been really busy these past few days. Work's been unusually demanding. Every minute spent at work was productive the past 2 weeks..I suppose it was necessary because I had a few "personal errands" to attend to during office hours -- that being the heart-breaking loss last Monday. Unbelievable. O so painful. It stings, still. And I attended a seminar with my dad yesterday and ofcourse that bitch of a storm that hit us last week. But life goes on...despite these nuisances, all in all, its been a decent 2 weeks. I think I'm back in working form. I have been happily busy working and welcome the many things I have to do. Its not that I hardly have anything to do, but, modesty aside, I think I just really know how to manage my time and am quite efficient (I learned from my mom a few years ago, the art of delegating -- what fun!). Its just these past 2 weeks that have been extra busy for me. Also since my cry for help, I'm just thrilled that I got a 100% response. Such delightful friends. Thank you my dears, I treasure you :) -- by responding, you actually snapped me out of it. I'm really okay now. I'm pretty confident that the 2 people I mentioned before + 3 fabulous friends know I exist on a daily basis, and that's enough for me :)Since my self-pity episode last week, my latest victim had texted me, and invited me to meet up and picked me up and intended to watch a game with me (unfortunately, no ticket available). Not bad for the past 7 days. That sure beats no contact in any form whatsoever...that semi bad news is, my excitement level has lowered immensely. I was a bit turned off by how he was acting...ofcourse I continued to tell myself that it was a second "date" -- which it was obviously not, but even just for friends hanging out, I'm just not used to guys not opening car doors and most unforgivable is excessive texting. Aargh, such a turn off. But again, since there's nobody else anyway, then I will continue to consider him as my "victim".I saw a completely naked girl walking along super traffic EDSA last Friday -- that is some form of different shit man...you just don't see that everyday...not that I was excited in any way...just got shocked. That day though, I spend a good part of the afternoon with girlfriend who was visiting and was being loving girlfriend by watching bufra present his wares...Summer 07 Tradeshow, at the same time making chika with me. I so missed talking to her, she knows me so well and has really taken all my shit with open arms -- labia majora! That night (just before I went on my not-date date), I met my buddy's bufra for the first time. I was finally ready. It took me a while, since I had gotten attached to the ex...but the current? A very nice fellow. Quite refined and easy to talk to -- chillax lang, very opposite of the ex who is like a hyper bundle of joy. They are both very very cool in their own opposing ways. The next day was game day...Geez. That was a very stressful day. I lost my parking ticket...didn't have my OR/CR in the car, so I couldn't leave the condo. Was told I may not have tickets for Game 2, but was supposed to be yaya of 2 youngsters who already had tickets and promised 2 other friends they'd have tickets too...it was not knowing for 2 hours that really killed me! Errands for my mom and having to be in Araneta at a certain time. The mammoth crowd. In and out of the Coliseum to meet up with people to give their tickets and ofcoures...the loss (which was actually no surprise)...but the really weird part was, that SSDD's chikas was the one who got me and my girlfriends' tickets and even saved my kickass seats. She was quite nice really, very acomodating. It just makes me think that maybe, like in the Godfather, she was keeping her friends close, and her enemies closer. But all is fair in basketball. She can use me all she wants (she'll probably get nothing out of me though). After that loss, SL and I went to see Bekler as we promised her dinner for missing her tea party (that hapened during the game). It was nice and relaxing, and filling! SL as kind enough to drive the whole time, so I was able to finally relax. But the night was young...I had to go meet up with LL and Hani as it was LL's last night in the country...so off to meet up I went!Sunday was yummy food and sleep sleep sleep...worry about my tickets to Game 3, accept that I had no tickets, then sleep againMonday = THE LOSS.The day would've been really wonderful, since I got to watch the game in such a serendiptious way...it would've been the first finals game I would miss since 2001, but lo and behold, I bump into a friend from college in my office driveway while waiting for my driver...he yells my name and says "Lets go!" -- obviously referring to the game..I said i had no ticket...he said he had no ride. I kidded him and said, if you give me a ticket, I'll give you a ride :) -- ofcourse I knew the chances were slim...but who would''ve thought!? He made a call and assured me of a ticket! I watched with my 3 trueblue boy buddies who were already there hours before...and, post game was a sinigang moment. Instead I headed to the wake of my friend's lola...and sulked there...and sulked the next day...and the next day...and having to sit in a day-long seminar with my dad who had a mouthful to say about Norman Black (as if he knew everything -- I just hate it when he does that! i'm also a sore loser). ut the seminar had its redeeming qualities, aside from a few things I learned from the speakers, I realized, (as Madame Auring would say) May asim pa ako. I had a chance to practice my social / flirting skills with some guy who showed a little interest...I guess my interest in him was just not great enough...as I ended up being a bit quiet (bordering on having nothing to say ---HOW BAD!!!). Met up with Bekler in the evening to accompany her to a party...wondering wondering wondering if there would be any prospects out and about on a Wenesday night...well, we ended up having a date with a sausage (the real edible one) and a cheescake in Old Swiss Inn. Best date I had in months! :)And then there's today...Worked the whooooole day. Going home to have pork chops and perhaps repeat my CSI DVD's since we don't have cable yet. That's it!I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Tomrrow is TGIF cocktail day with co-workers + ex-staff/crush of mine and then the party of our former officemate, who happens to also know Bekler and Hani! Excited to see all of them! By the way, friends, I have discovered my Infinity Blouse version 2. I will be wearing it tomorrow. FYI :)
